Crossing a Line

The statement below appeared very recently on Devon Roberts’ Web site, along with “statistics” in which she named my program and others in a broad-brush claim of their inadequacies, and her remedy for such:

“Experience and legalese mean nothing if you don’t know how to teach.”

The first requirement for teaching, whether it be English classes to second graders, or the more challenging subject matter in legal, medical, academic, or corporate settings, is to know intimately the subject matter being offered.
